Poetic Geology Series:

An ecstatic, sensual relationship with the world is a gateway to wisdom.

The begin point is stone.  Looking at the stones through a jeweller’s loupe, and finding there evidence of how the material world reacts to the pressures of time and change. The more deeply one looks into an object, the more surfaces are revealed — these inner and outer worlds inform and echo one another.

Stone is a witness of events, and her work is a commentary on the record itself, reflecting a fascination with geological time – the way things form, solidify, and decay – texture, surface, colour, clay, and fire are the impetus for her work.
